Winter projects.

Postby GaMatt72 » Mon Nov 07, 2016 9:38 pm

I am making a list of a few winter projects I want to do on our 2002 212 Interceptor. The first and biggest to me is looks and I want to replace the dash vinyl. The salt air from even inland Florida has bubbled both dashes. Also repaint a few of the gauge bezels or are they stickers too? I saw someplace that someone had the program to have a sign shop make new side vinyl but did not see anything about the dash. In a year or so I will need new side vinyl.

Second on my list is a new ski locker hinge but that looks like I can get it at Taco Marine or places like that.

Any help on the dash vinyl would be great I want to restore it as was.

Other than winterization and routine maintenance, I don't have any boat projects.
I do have some home projects though:
add a porch
landscape where I lost trees to Hurricane Matthew
paint both bathrooms
rip out carpet and put down wood floor

I'm getting the engine cover upholstery recovered and new snap-in carpeting, but other people are doing the hard work. Boat is in enclosed storage for the winter, so my projects will have to wait for the spring.

Replace all trailer lights with LED lights. Replace trailer tap slices with butt splices and adhesive lined heat shrink tubing.
Figure out how to get mount GPS for my new MercMonitor gauge I installed.
Install house battery and Voltage Sensitive Relay.
Replace rotary helm due to excessive play
Figure out what new prop to put on, current 3-blade SS 23P is way too big. Can barely pull up a 160-lb skier.
