Yes I have and it's a pain in the ass but well worth it.
You will need to pull out your speaker and cup holder tray down by the floor (easier said than done) next snake and wiggle your arm in to loosen the pad screws so that you can reach all the way up to where the remote will be. use a hole saw to cut your remote hole and mount it. The "Y" cable can be run from the stereo under the front of your ski locker and through the other side (there is already a wire harness there that I zip tied the cable to, keeps it from sagging) then plug in reinstall everything and done.

^This is right. I got in a hurry didn't remove the speaker to loosen the pad so I winded up cracking the cup holder housing when I was putting it back in. no big deal though its barely noticeable. I used an air powered die grinder to cut my hole, made it pretty easy. You should be able to do the whole job in about an hour though.

my 2003 212 was rated for 10 people, this new boat is only rated for 7, however this new one feels much more stable with a load on it. I wonder what the deal is with that?

My 2005 212 was rated for 9 people with the 5.0 MPI. My 2006 232 was rated for........... 8 with a 496MAG. I know the 496 added weight but, believe the Coast Guard regs for load must have changed around that time because I've spoken to others with big block 2004-05 232's with 10 people capacity.

Yeah my old boat had same engine was the same length and all just rated for three more people. It's not a huge deal I just keep enough life jackets for ten people and if the DNR wants to give me a ticket for that he was probably going to find something to aggravate me about anyway. :hammer:

I did think about having my local sign shop do some work on my capacity plate to make it read 10. I'm sure that's against some kind of federal law. Lol

Yeah, I nearly did the same thing with my 232. You can buy reproduction capacity plates online, but I don't remember the site.

I believe you have to have the registration with you at all times and I am pretty sure mine has the capacity of 8 on it. However if you do the math of (Number of people = vessel length (ft.) x vessel width (ft.) ÷ 15) my 232 would not be rated for 8 more like 12. I would love to get to capacity of 9 since we have 3 kids and most of our friends have a couple also.

Here is one site to get a new sticker:

The capacity is pretty much determined by the factory. Under which, the US regs have their complex formula which results in a final weight capacity. That capacity may be more than what the factory will put on the placard. (You know, liability worries and such.) Now, with a weight limit in mind. An example for the placard may be:

Option 1 -

11 PERSONS or 1,554 lb.
1,554 lb. persons and gear

Option 2 -

6 PERSONS or 814 lb.
1,554 lb. persons and gear

Option 3 -

6 PERSONS or 814 lb.
Between 814 and 1,554 lb. persons and gear
ie.
6 persons or 814 lb.
1014 lb. persons and gear (a lesser still weight allotment)
