Another New Guy: 218

I just bought a 2007 218. Love the boat and have picked up a maintenance manual for the 5.0 Volvo Penta. I'm frustrated trying to find an owner's manual for it, though. Anyone of this forum have one to sell or to copy or know of a source? The factory has the generic pdf file and they've told me they don't have them anymore.

Welcome! Hopefully you are getting some late season time on the water.I'm new to Carvavelle boats also and I've been pretty satisfied with my purchase. I'm coming from a much smaller and older Reinelle.

Thanks for the welcome! Yep, got her out four times so far. Learning the hard way how few marinas have rub rails on their ramps and docks!
I'm interested in boat covers. What's the experience out there? The "semi-custom" designs don't look very roadable because they are only an approximate fit. My dad always had a custom-fitted cover made for his (now mine) Dorsett Sea Hawk.

I have never used a boat cover when towing. I'm in a fortunate spot to only really need one to keep dust out as it is stored indoors all winter and under cover all summer.

And no kidding on those rub rails! We typically just get close, get the bumpers out and use a boat hook to bring us in to tie off.

The Caravelle owner's manual is worthless so not having one isn't a loss. Nothing meaningful in it.

I still haven't stepped up to a custom cover, but even if I did I wouldn't tow with it. Don't want rub marks and a possibility of ruining a $700 cover!
