2006 BR187 LS needs carpet replaced...

Postby Kimmel » Fri Sep 14, 2012 6:03 pm

Anyone done this yet?
Where did you buy and how happy were you with finished product?

We will replace snap out carpet in off season, so another question: do the carpet places lower prices in winter?

Try this mob here:
http://www.corinthian-marine-carpet.com/
I think some forum members got it from them.
Or:
http://www.snapincarpet.com/

I had to get mine custom made, the freight from US was about $450-500 but the carpet was around $250-300

Thanks Andrew....those are the two that I have samples for.
I've only made one template so I need to decide which to use, or if there is someplace else that's better.
My wife wants the carpet replaced as a birthday present.
What a gal.

Did you use one of those?

Someone on the site used Corinthian and said it was better, thicker, and heavier than the original carpet. There is a thread about it somewhere from the last six months

I got my replacement carpet from Corinthian like mentioned in a previous reply. They run closeout specials on some colors which is why I ended up with a deal. It is much nicer than the stock carpet for sure. You will need a good carpet snap tool and longer than normal snaps (1/4" I believe) to use on it. I couldn't find a snap tool I could borrow, so I bit the bullet and ordered a good one on line for around $100. Even with that and buying the stainless snaps, I came out cheaper than buying the carpet at normal prices.

Thanks Basshawk.
I did see on some other forum where someone got a good deal from Corinthian. Right now they only have a good deal on their cheapest berber, of which I have samples, and it's definately worth less. The other post I read, someone here got a great deal on one of their best carpets.

I got a great deal on their best quality in a color that was on sale. I believe it was called Thunder and was a medium to dark gray. It looks great in my boat. I paid less than $200 and they had the pattern for my 212 Interceptor. I ordered it during the colder months if I remember correctly, so be patient if you can.

Ordered carpet from Custom Marine Carpet out of Michigan

Wife wanted it for Christmas, gotta love that.

No movement in pricing at Corinthian, even in middle of December.

I made my template for 2006 187BR. When I get it installed, I'll post to let others know how well it fits. Custom Marine will save the measurments on computer so I won't have to do it again.

I got the 36 oz. Berber in Desert Sand with AquaLoc backing. It's listed at $8.95 per s.f. on Corinthian and I got it for alot less at Custom.

Wish I could have found something for less, but it is Christmas present.
