Just thought I would introduce myself as I just joined the forum.

I live in Indianapolis, IN and boat in northern Indiana. My wife and I both have been around boats all our lives. We purchased our first boat (1989 Baja 174) in 2005 and used it on several lakes including Lake Michigan for 2 years. We then upgraded to a 1998 Baja 196 and enjoyed that boat until we grew out of it. After the birth of our daughter and several friends having kids, we needed something bigger. We purchased a 2005 232 open bow Interceptor with a 496 mag this spring. We absolutely love the space the boat has given us and are actually very happy the boat overall. I am hoping to use this forum for questions I might have and to possibly share some of my boating knowledge.

I like to be different and also like to customize, so I have already made some changes to the 232. We named it "Tipsy Again" as our first boat was "Tipsy Too." I upgraded to polk speakers, Clarion head unit with 2 wired remotes, eclipse amp, and a 10" bazzoka tube. Part of this system was pulled from the Baja I traded in on the Caravelle. I added red anodized rear vents, red cup holders, and wrapped the glove box and gage pannel in white 3M Di-noc carbon fiber vinyl due to the paint peeling. I also added an Eddie Marine drive shower and bought a like new Mirage 25p prop. Of course I detailed it with a light wet sanding, buffing and polishing of the exterior and next year I will strip the interior and do the same to it.

Forgive me, as I can be long winded...

protonvx,

Welcome to the forum; I live in Muncie, IN and have a 212 Interceptor. Which lakes in northern Indiana do you use? I have a camper in a private campground close to Salamonie Reservoir but so far this year there's not much water in it.

Muncie6spd- Lake Manitou in Rochester; it is smaller, but not very busy compared to most lakes in Indiana. My wife's family has been using the lake for 40 years and a few years ago my wife and I purchased a small lake house. It makes it extremelly nice, we just get up there Friday night, lower the boat lift, quick wipe down of the boat, and out on the water for the day. So much better than trailering the boat all over the place. I have never visited the Salamonie Reservoir. Other than being low, how do you like it there? The wife and I always say that we are going to try to visit different lakes a couple of times each year, but hardly do.

Unfortunately due to a couple of weddings, I won't be back up to the lake for a couple of weeks, but I will get more pics.
