Postby misterkrabs » Tue Jan 22, 2013 5:14 am

Hello,

I want or need spare parts which I would like to buy from the States.
Can someone help me, maybe one of you or give you a tip?

Specifically, it's about a steering cylinder and a fuel pump from Volvo Penta , 5.0 GXI-J from 2009 .

The number of the steering cylinder is 3812269
The number of petrol pumps is 21608511

First many thanks for your help, regards from Cologne Germany, Peter.

Hi Peter
Why do you need the whole fuel pump assembly?
You can purchase just the electric fuel pump which is the high pressure unit.

Hi Andrew,

thanks for the links! I have seen in Germany already in the U.S. ebay for these replacement parts. Unfortunately, I do not look like an order from here, will be arranged. From America, I have unfortunately never bought anything.

Your link to the High Pressure Electric Fuel Pump, do you mean the small supply pump can not go wrong with dirt, etc.?
Because the electric pumps are somewhat prone unfortunately I would have liked to be a substitute for the holiday if something breaks.

The steering cylinder is leaking at some unfortunately. Volvo warranty is unfortunately not though only 60 hours, and from 2010 until the water.

This I would also like to replace if it is to be worse.

Hi Peter
The fuel filter which should be changed once a year or 50 hours
should stop the dirt from damaging the fuel pump. I have heard of too many
problems with the EFI fuel pump, it may be an overkill to carry a spare.
As to the steering cylinder check all the lines first , both the high pressure
and low pressured return.I think you have to remove the motor
to gain access to replace the steering cylinder.
I have been getting most of my parts from USA , they are about 30-50% cheaper than here in Australia.

Thank you Andrew!
I look at times if anyone ordered from us in the forum something from America, maybe I can join me and we share the freight costs and customs and taxation.

For the fuel pump I'm still thinking to retrofit an additional water absorbing filter. For safety, I have already made the long filter cartridge.
There are two sizes, to be taken for the long-E10 gasoline here in Germany.
