Pedestal Installation COMPLETED - SUCCESS AND LOVE IT!

Postby Mirage217 » Mon Jul 16, 2012 8:13 pm

Ok, I took on the challenge and didn't break open my skin as others posted the difficulty. I actually contacted Kenny at Caravelle and understood installation of the original pedestal was prior to placement of the complete deck system. This makes it almost impossible to access the nuts below. I had to just take the plunge and drill it out. I then used a combination of cabinet style spike nuts and the toggle systems. The spike was best for 4 of 6 locations. I also moved the seat back as I like more room for standing. Over all the boat was completely better for line of sight and feel. Now I am liking her so much better. Exhaust next! Pictures tell the story! I can adjust height now with 3" of movement.

Wow...... very nice. I like that idea. Thanks for sharing and posting the pics. I can see myself doing that in the off season.

Thanks for taking the time to create a nice "How To" collection of pics. This is on my ToDo list for winter projects. Thanks!

Well done, I also feel your pain as standing and driving a 217 is a challenge. Might need to look into it as well.
