Captain's chairs, LS vs. Interceptor.......or not.

Postby 04red207 » Sat Jun 09, 2012 10:42 pm

Having thoughts of replacing the captain's chairs in my 207LS with the ones in the Interceptors. But the last couple of days, I have seen some '05 and newer LS's with the same "Interceptor" seats. Does anyone know why some LS's have them and some don't? I didn't think there were different trim levels per model besides LS/FS.

I have not contacted Caravelle, but did a quick search and found same/similar? seats below.
Thanks for any info.

I'm thinking of changing out the smaller buckets in mine as well. Let me know how those are if you order them. :D

It depends on the year boat and options installed. The flip-up bolster seats were standard on Interceptors in 2005. They are well worth the upgrade.

I spoke with Kenny at Sak Marine (Caravelle) a couple of months back and he told me the seats are custom built by Milsco. They are not an off-the-shelf "component" part available anywhere else and simply slapped in (like for example, a guage). Milsco might make them for you, do not know because I have not contacted them yet. There might also be patent-type issues with them selling a design exclusive to Caravelle...who knows. But Sak will gladly sell them to you. He quoted me $490 each. We did not get into colors so I have no idea if this was a "basic" all white or if color of some sort was possible.

Contacted Kenny about the seats. I was not aware that all the new LS's come with the same color seat, off-white with a tan and brown, and all new Interceptors come the same white with grey accents.
The rest of my seats are white with tan and red, wouldn't go so well. Called Milsco but was told they will not sell straight to consumer.
Guess I'll crack open a beer and think of a plan B.

Buy the seats and have a local upholstery shop change out the accents. Expensive, yes.

I always laugh when I hear people talk about proprietary parts.

The bolster seats in our 06 Caravelle are nice but certainly there are a lot of nice seats being made by numerous manufacturers.

How about these?

Sorry, my first inquiry to replace seats in a Caravelle would be to contact Caravelle. Crazy, huh?

Thanks for the link, I had seen those as they have some listed on ebay as well. Look the same, different colors, cheaper, etc. I also learned that several boat manufacturers use the same seat, so I am sure I can come up with something.
