Dallas/Ft Worth area Caravelle owners?

Postby dancaravelle267 » Fri Mar 23, 2012 2:25 pm

How many of us are there? It's been pretty difficult to make the Texas deal work out but what about some of the DFW folks getting together on one of the local lakes?
Anyone interested?

Well, looks to be another boat-less summer for us. We are STILL repairing our home after the hail storm destroyed it almost one year ago exactly. Not so sure about this move to Texas from the boating perspective. Been here two years and she has never even been fired up. Always one thing or another between the move which dragged out over 9 months before the missus could get down here, kid in the Marines, hail storm from Hades, you name it.

I live in East Texas on Lake Cypress Springs close to Mt. Pleasant off if I-30. Since we bought the lake house in '08 I don't really trailer my boats anywhere and leave them in the boat house year round. But if there's any interest in coming to Cypress Springs, all I have to do is lower the lift!!

I heard that cypress springs lake has a 25' limit on boats. Is that true?

Well I am down here in arlington, I may be interested in a get together. We just had a baby he's 5 months old now so we will see how the boating season goes this year, mainly just money set backs... we are thinking about just leaving the boat at the lake whitney lake house this year. So if its whitney I am for sure down lol, if not I will just have to see how its going this year. Man I can't wait to take it out again haha. I have a buddy with a 212 in granbury I will try to get him to come as well.

That would be a real shame, it is such a nice lake. TP&W says it is a army corps of engineers lake, but that is incorrect. They mention no restrictions to boat size. Franklin County Water District runs most parks, but I wouldn't think they would have the authority to over watercraft.

We are taking the boat to Ouachita, and will likely leave it in Mt. Pleasant from June through end of July 4 week. If there is a get-together in the DFW/NE Texas area, we might have a chance at making it.

The Dallas area lakes might have more restauarants and marinas.

Ouichita is our favorite lake! Glad to know there is no limit on cypress springs. I took one of my other boats ther and enjoyed the lake. We are ready to get a local group together. Anyone else?

So let me know where so I can park my little 17ft next to that huge 267 lol
