Boating in March

Postby River Rat » Mon Mar 19, 2012 4:40 pm

I couldn't take it any longer!!!!!

It's been so nice lately that I spent a few nights last week getting the boat ready and put her in the water for the first run of the year yesterday. It was a little windy, but all and all a great day - sunny and 78 degrees!!

And, I wasn't the only idiot on the water as there were a couple dozen others running the river!! Hopefully, spring is here to stay......

Atlanta area has been Chamber-of-Commerce weather here. Went out Saturday and Sunday. Got LOTS of sun but wouldn't go in the water!

About 100+ boats in Sunset Cove.

I just took mine out of storage last Friday. Still a little cool here to do any boating but I need to get her serviced and cleaned up so that I'm ready as soon as it is warm enough.

Still chicken, but it has been over 70 degrees for over a week. I won’t be able to hold out much longer. Ice hasn’t been out for very long but this weather is AWESOME.

We've had some 80+ degree days, but I've either been at work or the pollen has been too bad. It won't be long now!! 8) :D

If I can get my grandpa's dang glastron running I will be going to the lake today as well, changing the fuel pump out and some wiring. Hopefully that will fix the thing lol

Seat cushions are at the upholstry shop. Other than that, it's ready to hit the water.

Mine is still in storage but I'm getting some work done on it. The sunpad had a seam come loose in the middle I believe due to grandkids jumping on it. My dealer removed the sunpad and had it repaired by an upholstery shop. They now have my factory cockpit cover in for repairs; the seam around the edge had a strip added to the edge for strengthening the snaps, it started falling apart and is now being replaced. I went by the lake I normally use today and it is still at winter pool level, way too low to use for awhile. Maybe I can get it out next month I hope.

First run of the year was a success! Fired right up with the first turn of the key. No issues...except for the sun burn!

They're talking upper 70's/low 80's here again this weekend. I guess I'm going to have to put her in the water again on Saturday so I can say I've boated twice in March!!
