The date is ok for me, I am just wondering what we have decided for the location. We have discussed a few places since this thread started (Lacrosse, PDC, ) I would be fine with either but Lacrosse would be my 1st choice, I trailer to my sisters every year near Winona and could kill two birds with one stone. But what is best for majority will work for me.

i've been informed that the best western in lacrosse is the only motel in town with docking facilities (32 slips) & they have NO saturday room availability in june, july, or august. they're all booked up. so it sounds like whoever would be staying in town will be pulling out & parking the boat, not that there's anything wrong with that.

has anyone here spent any time on this pool & know their way around? where to stay, on-water dining/drinks, sandbars, etc.

We did the LaCrosse tp Lansing IA trip last year, there and back. Stayed at best western I think off water. They have a gorgeous ramp there. Many places right around LaCrosse to eat. We could leave out of LaCrosse and go south meeting others along the way. OR, we could trailer further south and go whichever way. Wife already took off the 27th so we are good to go. Gettin Buzzed has a better memory then me so I will ask him to also reply  And YES!!! Let's GET ER DONE

Here's my status for the weekend of July 28th. Looks like I will be attending my annual family boating get together in Fountain City WI. (Pool 5). I would be willing to travel south to meet up with you guys on Saturday unless your too far south and I would have too many locks to travel through. I was wondering if anybody knows anything about Lake Onalaska just north of LaCrosse.

Also looks like Hawkeye boat sales in Dubuque is having a poker run that weekend, might be busy with off-shore boats.

i don't think the date, or even location, has been set in stone yet. right now, looks like the lacrosse pool is the likely winner. i'd like to suggest that we start a new thread with a sticky as soon as we get the location & date firmed up. that way we can get a real roll call & agenda figured out.

as far as the hawkeye poker run, it shouldn't interfere with anything. even if it did get far enough north (which i doubt), it's a big river & there's PLENTY of room for traffic. i also love to be on a sandbar when the poker runs fly by, you get to see some great looking hardware fly by.

3 day kid free weekend that weekend. I will be in that area somewhere. Come north and meet at Freddys float, or now called the The Dam Bar. :D
Probably could do a run to Lacrosse.

I wouldn't worry about Hawkeye's poker run, they stay in pool 11 & 12. Poker run is on friday the 27th and there regatta is on the 28th, thats usually in the cove under the IA/ILL bridge(pool 12).

I plan on coming when/where ever it is. The 28th might not be the greatest for me, thats my 1 sat a month to work(till 1).

Unfortunately, the weekend of the 28th will not work for us (about the only weekend the entire summer we won't be able to boat). :( I'll keep monitoring the thread in case something changes.
