Postby jkwcfd » Tue Apr 30, 2013 8:42 pm

Hey guys I want to put the bug in your ear if you are thinking about selling your 232 intercepter. I want to upgrade from my 212. Only stipulation I want one with the mercruiser not volvo penta. Let me know if you are interested!!! Thanks John

I have a 232 sc. 2001 with 240 hours. Boat was stored for most of its life. Very good condition. Has the merc 6.2 with 320 horsepower and a bravo drive. If interested I can send you pictures. Email me at travisandtaylor@yahoo.com or call at 814-431-5212. It had new boots, water pump, cockpit cover, serpentine belt, plugs and stereo in 2012. I love this boat but want something a little bigger so we have decided to start looking.

The hunt is on jkwcfd!! Any recent luck finding one yet?

I like your taste because I am also looking for that exact same boat! However, I wanted the 5.7 Volvo and since you have one I was wondering what your dislikes are on this motor? My father had a 5.0 Merc and I just remember it being a bear to work on with little hp. What would be your motor of choice for the 232?

Matt The only thing I dont like about the volvo is there are few aftermarket parts for it. Everything is done for the merc so if you want to put a supercharger on it lets say then u cant with the volvo. They dont make one for volvo only mercruiser. Other than that I like my volvo, it has been very reliable.

i know you're looking for '04 or newer but I'd part with my 2000 if the price was right. I've done a complete restoration of the wood in the boat(better than new by far). you can see some pictures here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6205 I'm not sure what I could fetch for it, but I would think I could get $16k based on whats selling around on the web.

I don't know about jkwcfd, but the 496MAG is always a good starting point.

Hahaha go big or go home right?! Is that how you ended up with a killer in-ground pool for the kids? Looks like you did an outstanding job :2cool:
While your here, you wouldn't know the difference in fuel consumption between the 350's and the 496 would you?
