New 17 prop 4 blade, WOW!!!

Postby mar0170 » Wed Jun 26, 2013 1:51 pm

I replaced the prop which I think was a 3 blade 21 prop. Hole shot was to be desired.. Big boat small prop, not a good mix..

Went by Propellers By Nettle here in Austin, Tx on Sat and bought a 17 prop, stainless steel 4 blade for $364.00 and they put it on for me. The customer service was really good. these guys really know what they are talking about and were very helpful in getting me what I wanted (a better hole shot) I would totally recommend using these guys at Nettles.

Took the boat out later that day and WOW was I impressed with the difference in performance, night and day difference..

Happy Customer!!!!

That's great; I changed from a 3 blade 21 pitch to a 5 blade 21 pitch and have much better low end. The diameter of the 5 blade is 1/4" smaller than the 3 blade and it will bump up against the rev limiter if I push it hard enough. Do you happen to know what the diameter was on the old and the new prop?

I have a 3 blade 19p SS that I have wanting to send to Nettle to get balanced and tuned.

I am happy with my 19p 4 blade. I am going to experiment with a 21p four blade also before the season is over.
