don't do that!

From your towing rig to trailer brakes. This is the place to discuss towing and trailering.

don't do that!

long story short, pay attention when an inexperienced friend is backing your trailer down the ramp. i was in the boat putting towels & such away and didn't notice my friend had backed too far into the water. the boat got blown to one side, over the fender. as i attempted to back the boat off the trailer it settled & crushed the fender. had to pry it up off the tire so we could get home without destroying the tires. after dicking around with the fender for about 3 hours it's still not completely straight & i can't get 2 bolts back into the carpeted guide on the back side of the fender. :x

Maybe guide post in the future??? Not the 2 foot stubbies or the ones that "flex", the tall 6 foot with the rigid poles.....

I know they are somewhat ugly, but you can trailer and launch your boat in the strongest winds and never worry about drifting or being off center.

I installed a set about 5 years ago, and ever since then my wife feels a lot more comfortable when she trailers the boat.

I will never have a trailer without them.

I just replaced a fender on my trailer that was damaged when the tread came off the rear tire. My dealer ordered it from Tennessee trailer and it took about 2 1/2 weeks to come in.

July 2012: $110 painted black with no stripe. Hubby moved the aluminum diamond plate from the old fender to the new. The new fender does not have the center brace. I re-used the wood board, but re-carpeted it.
July 2013: I crunched the one year old fender against the garage door frame. I pried it away from the tire. Oh, well. Poop happens!!

That stinks sdk!! $110 is not bad though.
I bought a brand new car hauler flat bed trailer last November and in dec, I jerk of a tow truck driver side swiped my new trailer. He took out the right fender. It cost me $100 a new one to be painted and installed. Of course the driver had fake insurance so it was at my expense. At least it was only $100

It may be time for a new fender, replaced both of mine due to the previous owner dipping it all in salt water! Don't buy them on line, shipping exceeds the cost of the fenders! Go directly to a trailer parts supplier and pick them up. $80 each.

blown tire destroyed my fender too. Looking for a new one. It was a b&^%$ to bend the fender out from the wheel and looks horrible now. :x
