Took the boat about 70 miles south offshore here in MS yesterday; nothing worth bragging about but just thought I would share some mid March fishin.

Oh and anyone concerned, no snapper died that were caught on this boat.

First time I ever took my boat that far out so I was kinda feelin it all out but I should have went ahead and pushed out another 5-10 miles and we would have bee in water 200+ feet deep but I was worried about fuel.

Was originally tryin to go deeper than 100' to weed out some of the snapper in hopes of some AJ or Wahoo but no such luck.

This is all that came home from inshore but none the less it was a fun trip. Hopin for more calm waters soon so we can push out farther or we may just trailer over to Venice to cut fuel cost and trip time.

Happy fishing to all!

Nice job on the fish!! But those red snapper have got to be photoshopped cause according to our fearless fish management gurus, there aren't any red snapper out there!!!!!!! Seriously, great job!!

Thanks guys....this is my life! Now I want a larger boat with twins lol.

Hey shel, did you hear about LA? They can't get the Gulf council to pull their heads outta their arsses so they went non compliant and snapper season starts next weekend in LA state waters.

I had heard that, wish florida would do the same thing. Only problem is with us, you to go out further than the state waters to catch red snapper, except maybe around the pensacola region. We just heard, if the sec of commerce signs off on it, we may have vermillion snapper open year round for us on the east coast. The accessment just came back and said "oh, not overfished and not going thru overfishing", NUH!!!

That would be cool! Y'all have all the good fish down there. I wanna catch a Cubbera snapper!

I'm plannin soon to ride over to P-cola and get a 3 day license and launch the boat outta P-cola to fish the deep water crevice. So much shorter of a haul.

How far are you from there, Shel?

That's a bit of a drive for me out of jax, probably 8 hours or so pulling the boat. Good bottom fishing though from what I hear. We're about to get into our prime trolling season over here in a couple of weeks. Dolphin thru mid june then kingfish thru august.
