Did your Seahawk come with outriggers out of the factory?

Postby Jaimeson » Wed Feb 06, 2013 2:00 am

Mine has Top Gun brand mounts that were on it when I bought it; looks factory. Does anyone know if it was a standard option or an available option straight outta the factory?

No, dealer added. According to the 2003, 2004 and 2005 price list, outriggers were not a factory option. Dealer had already installed Lee Sidewinders on mine with 20 ft poles, too tall for my shelter roof, sold them. I now have Taco Grand Slam 270 mounts with Lee 16 ft poles, love them!

Sheeeew! 20 footers?! Goodness....did you get fixed length or telescoping for your 16's?

There're fixed. Had the Taco telescoping poles, two sets, both ended up with issues with the release buttons not working/slipping. Also, a pain to extend out when out in the ocean in anything less than smooth seas. Can't really run with them extended. Those Lees are excellent!

&%@# man, that ain't good to know..... I just ordered a set of 16' telescoping tacos and I think they shipped today. Do you suggest I send them back and get something else? I couldn't beat the price man; like $400 for the poles.

Sheeeew! That was close! I called and cancelled the order right before they were shipped.

All right, I need some help and hopefully I can get it here; if not I'll try the hull truth or something.

As I previously stated, I have Rupp marine/top gun Z-30 mounts/bases. Does anyone (that's you Shel, lol) know if the Lees will fit my bases?

I have the customer service rep from Epal callin his Lees rep to ask but who knows how long that may take to get an answer back from.

Jaimeson,
Rupps have a pretty good rep, I've just never had them. I would call both Rupp and Lee Tackle direct and ask them about specific pole compatibilty. The Lee's that I have are AP3716XS Extra Strong 16 ft. They are listed as 1 3/4" dia poles. Lee's phone number is 910-386-5100 and they are located in NC. I bought mine from BOE Marine. They have the Lee's for $385, but thru 2/15, running internet "winter" special of $366.28. (coupon code winter) Here's their website.

I'm sure that Rupp has a similar outrigger pole. I do not have their number.

Epal called me back and said that Lees has a set P/N tx3717sl/sl that will fit my mounts but I don't see it on Lees website.

The telescoping seem nice and convenient but I've been reading mixed things about them.

I can't find anything on that part number either. I'd probably just call Lees and make sure.
