Repower Caravel Seahawk 233 walk around

Postby broad1846 » Sun Jul 24, 2011 5:41 pm

I own a 1999 Caravel Seahawk 233 walk around with a 225 Yahama that i need to repower. Can this boat be modified/converted to twin outboards. I realize that it has a power limitation but thinking about putting twin 125 hp e-tec's when I repower.

Thanks for any advice you can offer

If the bracket is the standard Armstrong bracket, you will have to switch it out. The biggest problem you will have is the additional weight in the stern. That boat is really a stretched 21 footer and designed with a single, lighter 2 stroke power. Even the newer Yamaha 250 4 stroke is a bit heavy for it but extra tabs compensate some.

That makes perfect sense...........the 2 stroke Yahama i have on the boat weighs ~525 (225 hp). A new e-tec (250 hp) weighs 518 lbs. If i use two 130hp, the weight increases to 780 pounds........... Based on you feedback, single 250 2 stroke is the way to go. Thanks for the feedback
