Depth gauge?

Postby RTWILL725 » Tue Jun 06, 2017 7:12 am

We just put our 212 in the water for the first time this season and it seems that our Faria depth gauge has lost its mind. It seems accurate at times but then the display will blink on and off and other times it will say 114ft or some crazy number when I know we are in 8ft of water. Then 5 min. later it will accurate again. Going to check wires when I get home from work today but still open for more ideas or other peoples experiences with similar issures.

Ours does the same thing - depends on whether the boat is moving or not (frequently freaks out while in motion) and on the running attitude, even if just puttering. I sort of figured they all did that...

Mine acts weird also. Check wiring an read website Manuel I think the gauge is just doing to much multi tasking
Seems acurate when at idle or sitting still

Mine did similar when we just bought it. A new gauge fixed the problem.

Mine did the same since we bought it, decided to pull the gauge to find the transducer wire had fallen out of the back of the gauge. Put it back in and fell out the next trip. Seems like a design flaw. I used some industrial tape, it'll hold me through this season and Im going to pull it apart and do a more permanent fix in the off season.
