Volvo Penta SX outdrive HELP PLEASE

Postby Curtis Blow » Tue Oct 18, 2016 7:40 pm

I need some advice on removing the outdrive. I've read several post that says remove tilt rams, remove 6 nuts, disconnect shift cable & pull....The problem is prior to buying the boat someone stole the lower foot and tried to steal the upper as well. So all those things above are disconnected but it won't pull off. Is there anything I'm missing? Is there something they could've messed up when they tried stealing it ???

Might have to lightly tap it with a rubber mallet to get it to break loose if it hasn't ever been off. It should pull straight out.

Yep! I agree, it's just stuck, probably some corrosion on the shaft. Tap and pull!
