| I have a 2008 206BR. The trim indicator is way off. When the prop is all the way down the needle is about halfway. Is this a simple adjustment or is there more to it? Can live without it but would like for it to work. |

Turn your boat upside down
---------------------------------------------------------------------
May be your input wires are reversed - try swapping them around.. OR...
Other suggestion is try rotating your puck 180 degrees

The outdrive is probably installed upside down. _________________ Elton Rodrigue

You must already have the upgrade for the upcoming pole shift. _________________ '98 Caravelle 188FS |

| anybody know how to adjust the trin sensor on a 4.3L Volvo...my boat is a '08 196BR, and when my engine is trimmed all the way down...the gauge shows just above the first mark from the bottom. BTW....this seems to have moved in the past weeks....it used to be just below the first mark from the bottom. ideas?? |

On my 5.0 Volvo, the sending unit is on the right side of the outdrive, a black puck with two screws. It will be easier to calibrate with two people.
First, get the trailer high enough to lower the unit all of the way down--back over a curb, pull it up onto blocks, use two jacks--whatever, but I had to raise my trailer about 6" for the outdrive to lower all of the way down.
Put in earplugs--you will see why after the next step is completed.
Turn the ignition switch on but do not start the engine. (Notice the annoying whine of the idiot alarm?--hence the earplugs)
Have someone in the cockpit watch the trim gauge as you adjust the sending unit. Do this by loosening the screws on the unit and rotating the unit until the needle points to the lowest line on the gauge. At this point, the person in the cockpit should shout "That's it!" and you can re-tighten the two screws.
Raise the outdrive back to the full-up position and THEN lower trailer off of whatever elevating devices you utilized.
If you want to disable the annoying idiot alarm, it is easily accomplished by removing the dash panel and unplugging the alarm. The alarm is connected to the oil pressure gauge on my carbed engine--I'm not sure how it is connected if you are fuel injected. _________________ 2007 Caravelle 217 LS
